The Latest Advances in AFM for Nanotechnology

In proud partnership with the Center for Electron Microscopy and Nanofabrication, Park Systems is proud to announce a free workshop and live demo to take place on March 13, 2018 at Portland State University. The workshop will cover topics such as AFM automatizing software with Self-Optimizing Scan Control and Scanning Ion Conductance Microscopy (SICM) technology, both from Park Systems. In the subsequent live demo, Park Systems will also unveil the functionality of the Park NX10 SICM System—a tool designed to enable innovative studies in electrochemistry. The entire event is open to all interested parties and includes lunch.

  • Event Date and Time: Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Seminar Venue:  Ondine Residence Hall, Room 54 — Portland State University in Portland, OR
  • Live Demo Venue: CEMN Room 22B, Science Building One — Portland State University in Portland, OR

Drs. Ryan Yoo and Wenqing Shi, will be the featured presenter at the event. Their talks will cover continuous innovations at Park Systems including: 1) the revolutionary Park SmartScan software, a pioneering AFM intelligence that produces high quality images with only a single click, and 2) SICM technique for studies in fields such as electrochemistry.

About the Center for Electron Microscopy and Nanofabrication

The Center for Electron Microscopy and Nanofabrication at Portland State University is a signature research facility of the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnology Institute (ONAMI), a collaboration between Oregon's research universities, Pacific Northwest National Laboratories and industry partners.

Supporting faculty research activities and collaboration at the shared user facilities of PSU, University of Oregon (UO), and Oregon State University (OSU), preparing students for future careers, and promoting the interaction between PSU and the greater community constitute three major missions of CEMN. The establishment of the Center is well on track with PSU's policy to enhance research activity and to support the needs of academic institutes and companies in the greater Portland area for advanced materials characterization capabilities. Its unique location and the introduction of state-of-the-arts facilities provide the physical basis for the success of CEMN. Talented faculty members and dedicated staff are the driving forces for its perfection. Researchers from participating institutions are able to access the CEMN by visiting the facility at PSU, or through remote-access high-speed Internet connections—enabling critical research to take place throughout Oregon.
