Park Systems, the leading nanotechnology solutions partner of nanoscale measurements, was pleased to announce the Advanced Materials Unit from the Fundacion Centro Tecologico de Componentes (CTC) in Spain as the winner of the 2012 image contest, awarded during the Park Systems 11th Worldwide Sales Meeting held in Seoul, Korea, early this year. The winning image of graphene oxide nanoplatelets was captured by Park XE-100 utilizing True Non-Contact Mode™.

Graphene and Park XE-100

Park XE-100 was the choice of atomic force microscope (AFM) for the Advanced Materials Unit team. Park XE-100 is renowned for its ultimate AFM/SPM performance using True Non-Contact ModeTM. It is a system for materials science, polymers, electrochemistry and other applications in nanoscience and engineering. The topographical image of graphene oxide nanoplatelets with thickness of 1 nm could be observed in a scan size of 3.5 μm ´ 3.5 μm. Park XE-100 also comes with the Step-and-Scan Automation and reduced drift rate for better productivity in measurement routines.
